Six Films

 

Jon Berhens is part cinematographer part ink and dye painter.

I have worked in ink and dying film and it is not easy finding things that both stick to a film but also that are transparent enough yet Jon seems to have the look of oils on canvas for his films and I am not yet certain but it seems layers deep like a film over film you can imagine. This is not just one film but many  Jon's works well with his home built optical printer to blend his films on one and it works so lovely its fantastic trip through color and image. His more cinema oriented films are grand use of a camera that moves he really is a photographer in many sense that uses motion framing while in motion where his shots feel and look. His night lights film is amazing nice compositions and motion pieces images refed in the system to create a everlasting it seems patterns the speed at which this work is like music to the eyes blinking randomly at times.

It truly a art piece on film.
