    _{It was nearly dark when they approached the disturbing forest. Dark and old, the wood seemed to come from another world, a world where the air is rare, heavy, and where the sunlight seems to have abandoned the vegetation, which is now prey to stagnation and oblivion. The various intermingled tree left little practicable ways for our party. Although in the middle of summer, the slippery floor was covered with brown, dead and wet leaves. The vision was blurred by a thick, icy cold mist, which reinforced the feeling of insecurity our companions felt.}

    _{Wildlife sounds, which are usually regular in this type of environment, were just as grim and threatening as the old disemboweled oak that stood before them. A clear warning of the danger that lain in wait for them. A curious cacophony became more and more audible as they progressed with difficulty in the undergrowth. No one could point the din’s origin, but for some of the superstitious people there, clearly it was a new command to turn around.}

    _{Each branch crunching was enough to frighten the little troop as they were worrying about the almost human forms the fog was taking. The progress was made more and more laborious. After having struggled with an imbroglio of brambles, the leading man discovered with astonishment that they were at the threshold of a swamp. The fog gradually faded and revealed an old boat attached to a root of an half dead and immersed poplar.}
