this was very 'off the cuff' and I may revise or extend, but knowing me, probably not.

Luna Park was in Berlin and as far I know is pretty much gone now, maybe entirely. I checked today; it was closed permanently in 1933, and in 1935, the Nazis, having obtained rights to put on the 1936 summer Olympics, with the callous effectiveness of Robert Moses and most modern roadbuilders, demolished and disintegrated and destroyed it utterly by putting a superhighway right through it. They needed good access to the Olympic grounds and sacrificed the park with no regard to pleasant things of past and present in order to obtain an inaccurate vision of the future. For a public image to stroke egos. Or at least one ego.
