UPDATE:
On February 4th 2022 this was awarded a Daily Deviation. This was my first one and happy that it was one of my own projects and not a fan art piece to get the award.

A little project for my sister.
When she reached her landmark birthday a few years ago we made sure it was a good one. She loves Medieval fashion and I designed the dress for her and a friend who works for the Royal Shakespeare company made it. She had a fantastic day.
So after doing a project for the day itself (see Medieval Princess www.deviantart.com/starfire-pr…) I thought it would be fun to revisit and do something with a more fairytale feel. Had two versions for this one but may well finish the other one in a few weeks just for fun.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 9 colours.
Desley's eyes were done with white and dark sepia.
Her eyebrows were done with warm grey 4.
Her nose was done with white, dark sepia and warm grey 3.
Her mouth was done with dark sepia, warm grey 1 and warm grey 4.
Her face was done with white, warm grey 2 and warm grey 3.
Her hairband was done with white, warm grey 2, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
Her hair was done with warm grey 1, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
Her neck and chest were done with warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3 and warm grey 4.
Her necklace was done with black, warm grey 1 and warm grey 5.
Her dress was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
Her left hand was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 3 and warm grey 5.
Her right arm and hand were done with white and warm grey 3.
The tree to the left was done with white, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6
The bush to the left was done with white, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
The bush to the right was done with white, warm grey 2, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
The leaf covered ground was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
Finally, the forest background was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.

Completion time: 59 hours, 57 minutes
