This story is 100% true.

Conseula as far as I ever knew it was a woman who, with a 4 year old child, was turned out of her house by the Nationalist army (of Franco) during the Spanish civil war because her husband was a driver for the Republican army (the communists.. sort of??) of Spain during the mid to late 30s. She had only one choice which was to get across the border from Reus, Cataluña, to France, which meant crossing the Pyrenees in winter. Which she did. Only to give birth one day before receiving reports her husband had died in the war. Whether those reports were true... well...

One never knows, does one?
