One of my pet mice died and I sculpted a gravestone. It's my first time sculpting in wax clay and also my first time making a marbled resin cast, I just wish the occassion was a little more fun.
You might be thinking this kind of gravestone is laughably over the top for a little mouse and yea, it is. But it was important to me to make a really fancy noticeable gravestone, let me explain why.

My two mice were feeding mice (for snakes) you can buy for 1 dollar. A young boy I know over several weird friend/family constellations decided to buy them for fun, as pets. He didn't buy food nor any houses and just kept them in a cardboard box for exactly one night, then he wanted to get rid of them because they annoyed him. I was asked if I wanted to feed them to my cats and if I wasn't interested they'd just put them in the garden (where they would die immediatly).
I don't have a problem with animals eating other animals because that's nature but I have an issue with buying an animal like a toy product and then throwing it in the trash when it's not "fun" anymore. The thought process of seeing this little family member with little hands and a little personality (and they DO have very distinct personalities) and saying "This is boring now, I want it to be dead" kind of hurt me. So I took these two little mice into my home because I wanted them to have the absolute best, most fulfilling amazing food-mouse life that's possible with what I can offer. Just imagine being so unlucky that you're not just born a mouse but also an albino food mouse that doesn't even get to nurish another animal (snake) and instead just gets thrown in the garbage because someone else felt like it. I just thought... maybe these little mice deserve a tiny bit of luck for once in their lifes.

This grave is supposed to symbolize that despite many people saying otherwise this mouse had GREAT worth and was dearly loved.
