In the 17th century, a plague doctor was a medical physician who treated victims of the bubonic plague. They wore long black leather clothing, gloves, hats, and a beak which is their most recognizable feature. These beaks were filled with specialized herbs which they believe would take away the "evil" smells of the plague and prevent them from getting it. (Source: Wikipedia)

Our medical professionals today are facing this virus head-on, tending to the victims. They remind me of these plague doctors and how they are now our modern-day heroes

In my art above, the child is holding up a red Chrysanthemum. In the United States, a red Chrysanthemum symbolizes hope and generally means longevity, fidelity, joy, and optimism. Coincidentally, however, in Italy and other parts of Europe, this flower symbolizes death. ☹️
