I got this song published in a poetry book called "Sunbeams and Shadows" a few years back in 1998 when I was 17. It was for a contest open to high school students only and was a national contest throughout Canada. I can't remember the name of the publishing compant right off the top of my head and since I'm away from home right now, I don't have easy access to the book so I can't look them up either. At a later point in time, I'll edit this and put in the name of the publishing company. I promise. Anyway, the contest was legit and I got a few copies of the book. Out of over 1000 entries, I estimated only half of them got published. They told me in the letter that I received from them that they got over 1000 entries and when I went all the ppl in the back of the book, I roughly counted over 500 ppl so I'm really happy that I'm one of those ppl. I really wished I had won though but getting my own work published in a book is real nice either way. I didn't realize it at first but after a while I noticed that part of the tune that I created sorta resembled a song from Disney's "Hercules". Whether it's pure coincidence or I subconsciously based part of the tune on the song, I'll never know for sure. I hope everyone enjoys this song I created. I also have to give credit to Mr. Lauzon, who was librarian at the time, who helped me edit it before I submitted it to the publishing company, who I also thank for publishing my song in their poetry book.
