Sableye is one of my favorite Pokemon. They are mischievously cute, plus they had no type weakness until fairy type was invented! I caught one in my Emerald version and named her Marilyn (because diamonds are a girl's best friend).

Marilyn stands about 12" tall and is made with smooth minky and cotton solids. All of her resin gems were custom designed, 3D modeled, 3D printed, sanded, molded, cast in resin, then sanded again, coated with modge podge, and backed with shiny paper. What a process. She has a 3D mouth with little teeth filled with hard foam and a pink tongue. Her arms are wired and pose-able, which was really fun to work with while photographing her. The pictures were taken at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in the Gems and Minerals exhibit. It was a blast to get candid photos of a Pokemon with such personality (and affinity for thieving). Marilyn was a great project but she was also time consuming. Overall I learned a lot, have a cute plushie to add to my collection, and took some great pictures to share!
