Long time ago I planned a 50x70cm series of illustrations
I started with Nebula fav.me/d5ntiwi focusing on death and rebirth in 2011.
They're all ballpoint pen illustrations.

To be honest I don't think this one turned well like the previous. Maybe because I got sick of it very early. 50x70cm is a big paper to fill, as you can imagine.
I like the concept and the elements but not really how i managed the black and white balance, especially the top part. In the beginning I was adding details also in the background but it become so crowded.

Well, I stop with this rant, I don't want you make comments like "oh come on, it's good", it's just I hoped to make something better than my 2011 piece. Lets talk about the interesting part.

Each concept of the series was already decided long ago. To put it simple, it's very similar to "The sleep of reason produces monsters" by Goya.
Here a flock of ravens create a dangerous mouth using their beaks as teeth of a bigger monster, They shield a blind, and poisonus voice, that is their tongue and bring them slowly in the darkness as well.
Lavander grows on the beast, a plant associated with scepticism, distrust and doubt.
It's almost banal to make a reference to fake news and conspiracy theories. I'm not here really to make a statement. I refer to this series as "Cycle of Life", they're part of humanity and human condition.
