Ōkami is one of my all-time favorite video games. As such, I’ve always wanted to draw a nature scene that would both honor this amazing game and echo my admiration for it. But for the longest time, I had no idea how to translate such a beautifully stylized game into my own art style. And then I came across this adorable cosplay photograph of one of Ōkami’s Celestial Brush gods, Kabegami. I suddenly found myself smiling right back at this lovely photo, and somewhere in that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted to draw. And here it is!

I've always loved how one person’s creativity has this miraculous ability to set alight another person’s creativity. It’s one of the things I love most about being an artist. And it makes me ever so happy that I’m able to share my work with everyone, knowing that what I give to the world might somehow inspire someone too!

This artwork though, is my own creation based off of KuchikixRukia’s interpretation of a personified Kabegami.</sub>
