(belated post from September.... ) The 5th of the 5 new Korok I made back in September - the Maple Mask! All the masks were based off the actual in-game models you find around Hyrule in Breath of the Wild. I adore Korok with a burning passion, and making the BoTW designs had been on my list FOREVER. The Makar from Wind Waker was simply not enough to slake my thirst for more cute forest babies. All the Korok have a wonderful, jingly bell in their stomachs that jingles when you shake the darlings. And each korok (aside from Chio and Hestu) measures roughly 11-12in in height. I have still to check the various recent manipulations uploaded by various users. The time was really few, so the options were 2: option one, don't create nothing; option two study something of accessible in few days....of course always for fun and not because obbligatory ahha. In reality in my mind i had the idea about Dementors but toooooo long to create what i want. So i chosedthis version more relaxing (but not less detailed indeed has been a long process) about Hogsmeade at Christmas + snowing. Hogwarts school at the faraway castle. I opted for the night version because in my opinion was more intriguing and i don't know if you will like. Anyway i uploaded also a second version at the following link - sta.sh/0gz5ndktylx - The first issue has been how create something about hogsmeade using the few resources avaiable? This is my personal answer. - Im not so crazy to use perspective at level maniac! This isn't a professional accademy I used partially some essential rule without fix at mm the perspective, but about proportions i used a level enough high but always not maniacal. Because proportions are essentials in a work like this. You can also use a bit of compromise with perspective but not with proportions because they do the difference. - The architecture of the lighting and color correction are aspects im improving because they do a great difference of visual quality...and of course they took a process really long. - Some Color codes for me always important because use many different color tones create visual confusion. - f9f778 Yellow - fffffd White - e89d54 Orange (windows-lantern + some blend mode expecially color dodge) - bcc6cf to build the Snow - yesterday i was studying a bit Depth Maps in combination with lens blur. At the end the concept is really easy but extremely powerfull. Its all a game of gradient from black to white and viceversa. So we can have a realistic blur because the tool apply it gradually thanks the power of the gradient and thanks the target we can choose how and where apply it. Of course if necessary at the end a bit of mask can be useful on some point. - To build snow on building i used a simple regular flat brush + cheap mouse. SMASH THE SYSTEM!!! I am ashamed to say that even though I play as Gaige in Borderlands, I didn't notice she had a robot arm until I did this challenge. 😅 Eehehe. I mean, it does make sense that the mechromancer (mechanical necromancer) is.. mechanical. Bu dum tss! This bodypaint was done for @hypnoticamu 's Secret Santa challenge! My Secret Santa was the lovely @yangkangemm . I really loved her take on Gaige from Borderlands 2 and decided to recreate this look! The more I looked at her picture, the more details and colour work I saw. I tried my best to recreate her style as much as possible and I only used her picture as a reference. I love how this turned out. This look took me 8 hours and 50 minutes to do. I'm not the quickest, but I have improved a bit since I started bodypainting a year and 4 months ago. I get very easily distracted. 😅 But it's fine, cz I have so much fun doing it! I did forget about a couple of lines I told myself I would 'get back to'. 😱 And I realized as soooon as I stepped out of the shower. 😑 Products used: - Graftobian Propaint (Fuzzy bear brown, Swan white, Graveyard grey, Sunset orange, Buttercup yellow, Raven black, catalina blue and crimson red.) - Wolfe FX (010 black) - NYX (Swear by it eyeshadows, ultimate Shadow palette.) I had to work a little more on this one as the original had a lot of mistakes. More work should be done but I didn't want to change the main things in the image to mantain it's vibe. I personally like it because for me it represents the need and desire to go out of our frames, our reality, back into our dreams and fantasies in order to regain tranquility and inner peace, reconnecting with our inner world in this sometimes shallow society.
