Mt Buffalo National Park, Australia. 7/02/2016 Spent a night out at my favorite place to sit and watch the world go by last weekend. I wanted to catch all the unaided eye planets and the rising central bulge of the Milky Way in the one panorama. With a crescent Moon rising on the horizon and slightly lighting up the landscape I had to work fast before the sky got too bright from the approaching dawn. There are six planets in this image. Wallpaper – Painted in Photoshop, I used some textures from NASA to get a interesting and dynamic star-field as well as CGI techniques to make the design look more fantastical. I looked at a lot of pictures of the oceans and coral reefs, because I found the colour palette really fun to work with. Oh you can download this as a wallpaper too (2560x1440) I'm going to be uploading some more work, paintings, concept art and some sketches too.
