    A repaint of my 2009 drawing, Hope and Despair. Some people have mentioned how this new version feels more hopeful than the original. I feel that way too. I've been very happy these days, and it feels like everything will be alright again :)

    Thank you again to everyone who reached out and supported me when I was feeling down during the beginning of this year. I've been working on a lot of different projects, and I'm excited to share with everyone when things are ready!

    Day One!

    Bullet; Purple  Element 1. Verne-acular: 
    Root some aspect of your story in an area of real scientific research.
    I chose gender science, or the gender identity aspect of neuroscience. That gender exists on a spectrum.

     Bullet; Purple  Element 2. Might-as-Wells: 
    Add something fantastic to your story, and use the addition to say something about today's society in the process.
    I added in a carriage with an invisible driver and horse, that transport certain people to a sort of sandbox alternate London, where technology and dreams blur. When Herbert tells Jules he could float off he thinks about flying, he's not kidding. He really could have. 

     Bullet; Purple Element 3. Party Like it's Yesteryear: 
    Colour your setting with a bit of that old 1800's flair. You don't have to base your story in Victorian times, or even set it on this planet, but let's try and keep the aesthetics of your world somewhere between post-Industrial to 2nd World War in style. 
    I tried! I spent hours looking at pretty carriages, and then I stopped procrastinating. :giggle: 

    H.G. Wells is a cross-dresser, but Jules Verne is transgender. I kind of opposed their personalities to their writing styles; Wells might write about aliens and such, but he wanted the reality of London to base himself in. Verne saw the other London as the greatest adventure.

    I use Cinema 4D and Photoshop, total worktime around 15 hours.

    I felt that this is a more emotional piece for me and was very good for expressing a certain mood that time. Later i might remake this idea with an original character though. Thank you, shinji-ro for this :bow:
